Everyone's leaving erie. It really bothers me, because everyone always says "our scene is a bunch of kids." That's because all the older dudes have stopped goin to shows or moved away. I mean i've been into hardcore for like 6 years, and yea i didnt faithfully start goin top shows at first, but hey. i still feel like i missed alot. because i did. But what about the kids who just come in now. Where do you start them? I mean do you give them a disciple cd and be like "hey, erie hardcore used to be like this, they are playin again soon. learn the words and the breakdowns" Or do you hand them a Madball cd, cause they MAY get to see them. BUt then again they are old (good but old) so should you start them on new bands they may see? But then you dont grasp the legacy that surrounds hardcore.
My point is, its hard to sell hardcore to kids. And now it seems even harder to keep the kids into hardcore that have been around for awhile. I mean I'm 20 minus a month. I'm an old head now. FUCKING ELI LEFT ERIE!! WHAT THE FUCK!
Also, i found a bomb ass place to hold shows. maybe we can regenerate something if we have something in erie. it's downtown too. we'll see.
I dunno man. It's hard loving this city and the people in it, and seeing everyone leave. I feel it could, should, and would become something again if we had something of our own. A rebirth of sorts. We just need the kids now, and so the journey starts.
