I read coles journal

I heard it for myself

Disappointment Reigns in 2005. And just because it's 2006 doesnt make it any different.

I guess i saw it coming, and who am i to expect anyone except me could ever actually stay straight edge. I'm glad to know i wont actually be the only one, but damn... someone give me a break here.

I'm sure i'll here plenty of "It's their choice!" and "Don't Judge!" and "Why do you care??!!"

SAVE x IT. As if i shouldnt care. As if YET ANOTHER friend(s) of mine selling the fuck out wouldnt bother me. Reasons, schmeasons. I still like ya, but Its just another Day of the Weak.

I always say the same thing when people ask why I care if someone breaks edge. The way I look at it, if they can't keep a commitment to something like that, then how can they keep a commitment to something like a friendship. There's been so many times I've had a friend of mine get into drinking or drugs, start partying, make new friends, and then disappear. It's just really disappointing.

Most of the time people get new friends because their straight edge friends don't support what they do now. Its not that they are selfish and only think about themselves, its that they know you're probably judging them and I know I don't like that feeling.
I sold out and I still have a lot of friends that are the same. Friendships are like relationships(boyfriend/girlfriend)it takes two people. Not one.

You didn't understand what I was saying. Obviously. I'm saying that its not their fault that you lose them as friends. Its your fault for not being their friend through their change. This is said generally. Not just for you or that guy.

Because they are different kinds of commitments.

If my relationships hung on the other persons commitment to their own minds and bodies, I'd probably be alone. But I'm not, and my closest friends run the gamut from straightedge/vegan to insane alcoholics, with most of them falling somewhere in the middle.
